Football Kenya Federation Premier League actions will resume over the weekend after a week-long break.

The league took a break to allow teams - AFC Leopards, Kenya Police, Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Sofapaka, to participate in the FKF Cup.

From Saturday, May 4, to Monday, May 6, the focus will now shift to the Premier League title race, with a particular highlight on Gor Mahia, who enjoy a nine-point lead.

KCB will host Kariobangi Sharks in South C while Muhoroni Youth will tackle Bidco United in Muhoroni, and in the third game, Gor Mahia will battle Muranga Seal.

Shabana and Sofapaka will clash at the Dandora Stadium.

Fresh from their win at the Mashemeji Derby, K'Ogalo will hope to pick up maximum points at St Sebastian in order to put themselves in a better position to defend their title in the end.

Seal, on the other hand, are not under particular pressure given that they are all but certain to remain in the top flight, but they are nonetheless expected to give the giants a run for their money.

All the games will kick off at 3:00 pm.

Sunday action

On Sunday, Nairobi City Stars will face off with Ulinzi Stars in an early kick-off at Dandora Stadium.

Kakamegam Hoemboyz, who were eliminated from the FKF Cup, are going to host Police at the Mumias Sports Complex. In an effort to close in on Gor Mahia and maybe open the gap with third-placed Tusker, the cops are expected to fight hard and get maximum points.

AFC Leopards will be at Nyayo Stadium to play Bandari. The Dockers will be keen not to lose because a defeat will see them cede more ground in the battle of the top four.

Ingwe, on the other hand, are set to be buoyed up by their spirited comeback in the cup tournament and fight for a victory.

AFC Leopards will also want to get back to winning ways after going down to arch-rivals Gor Mahia in the previous league action.

In the fourth game set for Sunday, Posta Rangers will tackle FC Talanta.

On Monday, Tusker will play Nzoia Sugar at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. This is a game that will get a particular highlight since Tusker are still in the title mix while Nzoia Sugar are facing an imminent chop.

Although a win may not save them from relegation, Nzoia Sugar will want to fight and frustrate Tusker, who have also been inconsistent in the last few games.
