National football team Harambee Stars will pocket Sh five million if they beat Comoros and revive their campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in a crucial Group G match Sunday night in Moroni.

This was announced by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa on Saturday just before the team left aboard a private jet to the Indian Ocean Island.

"We have to motivate the players. If they win Sunday's qualifier against Comoros, then they are guaranteed to get Sh five million from the federation and its partners and we will deliver the money in early January," Mwendwa told People Sport.

He added: "We need to learn how to win matches away and also win all our home matches. We still have a path of qualifying for the 2021 Afcon and we will give it our best".

Stars desperately need a win against their opponents, but according to statistics, the Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee lads have a poor record playing in a foreign land, the last time they won away was in 2015 when they piped lowly rated Mauritius 5-2.

Comoros who lead Group G on five points after three matches, enjoy a good home record only losing twice since being incorporated as a Fifa member in 2008.
