Hard Core Club reigned supreme in most categories as the Chairman’s Cup Kick Boxing Championships concluded at Pumwani Social Hall (Pal Pal gymnasium) at the weekend.

In the boys’ under-14 category, Titus Bwire was in his true element as he vanquished Marley Issa of Dragon to emerge the best in the category.

The girls under 13 honors went to another Hard Core exponent Tessy Nabwire who summoned her will power and energy to beat Mikah Khanchi of Takids Club.

In the mens under-60 kilograms, Lware Matthews from Hard Core was placed first followed by Norman Mende of 1 Tribe and Martyne Mbugua of Ulinzi.

Hard Core’s dominance continued in the men 60 kilograms category when Meshack Okuku was placed first with Peter Njiru (Ulinzi) and Eugene Oyugi  being placed in the second and third positions respectively.

Undeterred

The tide would change in the men under 91 kilograms where Brian Ochieng’ of Nakuru prevailed over Brucely Abugana. Undeterred by the setback, Hardcore came back to the competition with John Kariuki winning the men under-81 kilograms category as Ulinzi’s duo of Richard Noel and Jayson Otieno wound up in the second and third positions respectively.

The men under-86 kilograms produced more or less the same results as Hard core’s Polycarp Ochieng’ topped the category followed by another Ulinzi pair.
