"Omurwa, 23, joins us from the Kenyan Premier League team Wazito, and is a player for the Kenya national team in which he has 11 appearances," a statement by the club read in part.

Omurwa, on his part, thanked the club for giving him the chance to play abroad and is keen to help the side meet its targets.

"I want to thank the Nes Ziona section club for the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

"I look forward to starting the season and meeting the club's goals and beyond," he said.

After completing his secondary education, Omurwa joined Wazito in 2017, before joining Mathare United in 2018.

In February 2018, he made his debut for the club against Vihiga United.

Omurwa returned to Wazito in August 2019 and was later linked with a summer 2020 move to Petro Atlético, but the deal fell through.

Other deals that fell through were South  Africa Premier League side Maritzburg and Chippa United.

Omurwa represented Kenya's national under-23 team, making his debut against Mauritius in a 2020 Olympics qualification match in November 2018.

His first senior call-up came in mid-2019, when Kenya faced Tanzania in the first leg of the opening round's qualifier, though he was not considered for playing time.

On September 8, 2019, he made his Kenya national football team debut in a 1-1 friendly draw with Uganda, and on March 13, 2021, he captained the national team to a 1-0 victory over South Sudan.

Since 2019, he has made 11 appearances for Kenya.

His new club finished second in the 2021/22 campaign and will start off their new campaign in August 2022 with a match against Ashdod.
