Gearing up for the highly anticipated WRC Safari Rally 2024, Africa Rally Champion Karan Patel is fueled by determination and a hunger for success.

Despite encountering mechanical setbacks in the past two editions that hindered him from completing the rally, Patel remains steadfast in his pursuit of a top-ten overall finish and sets his sights on securing a podium position in his category.

Addressing previous rally issues with adjustments to his car, Patel expressed confidence in his team’s preparations.

“This time round hopefully we can accomplish a top three finish in the WRC2 category, hopefully a top ten finish overall,” Patel stated optimistically.

“Despite experiencing two Did Not Finish (DNF) instances in the last two rallies, we are hoping for a good finish.”

Speaking to journalists, he underscores the WRC Safari Rally’s significance as a platform for local drivers to showcase their talents on an international stage.

He perceives a strong performance in the rally as an opportunity to attract global sponsors and potentially participate in more prestigious events worldwide.

“The WRC Safari Rally is a chance for us to demonstrate our skills as a team preparation-wise and as a driver when the whole world is watching us. It’s a prestigious event and one that requires a lot of dedication.”

With the rally now scheduled for Easter, Patel acknowledged the unpredictable weather conditions accompanying the change in timing.

However, he refused to solely rely on weather predictions, having experienced letdowns in the past.
Instead, he is focused on ensuring that he and his team are thoroughly prepared for any scenario they might encounter on the challenging rally stages.

“I do not depend on the weather forecast; it’s always let me down in the past or changed at the last minute,” Patel asserted.

“It’s a matter of getting there on that particular weekend and then finding out what is in store for us. Come what may, we are ready for the challenge.”

As the WRC Safari Rally 2024 approaches, the Africa Rally Champion and his team are poised to confront the upcoming challenges with unwavering confidence and determination.

With aspirations for a top-ten overall finish and a podium spot in their category, they are prepared to showcase their talent and leave an indelible mark on one of the world’s most iconic rallies.
