Kiguru elected new Kenya Golf Federation chairman

Peter Kiguru is the new Kenya Golf Federation chairman.

This was announced after the Kenya Golf Federation (KGF) Special General Meeting elections held at Muthaiga Golf Club on Friday. Kiguru won with a whopping 20 votes against George Gathu who garnered nine votes.

The elections were conducted by the Centre for Multiparty Democracy with 29 delegates in attendance. Also in attendance was the Registrar of Sports Rose Wasike and the Sports Director Japson Gitonga.

Rosemary Olonde, now the vice chairman, went unopposed as Philip Ochola will now double up as the secretary of the Kenya Golf Union and the Kenya Golf Federation.

Njani Ndiritu from Vet Lab Sports Club will also double up as the treasurer of the Kenya Golf Union and the Kenya Golf Federation. Njani Ndiritu was up against Florence Kamau from Kenya Railway Golf Club.

During the meeting the outgoing chairman Paul Murumba thanked all the delegates for their cooperation and wished the new board the best as they take golf to the next level.

Clinching the five executive committee slots were Mukami Wangai from Limuru Country Club, Collins Ojiamb from Karen Country Country Club, David Ndungu from Limuru Country Club, Jane Babsa from Muthaiga Golf Club and Evans Nyaga from Windsor Golf and Country Club.
