Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Men’s Division II debutants Kisii Raptors, are supremely confident that they will not pass up their opportunity to qualify for the playoffs when they host two crucial league final matches of the league regular season this weekend at their backyard.

The KBF men’s Division 11 debutants have been outstanding lately and are scheduled to host Little Prince (Saturday) and Renegades (Sunday), and whilst appreciating the threat faced by the visitors, coach-cum player Hillary Simba has a steely determination to ensure his boys make it to playoffs in their debut season.

Raptors could have been going into this weekend’s season finale encounters with a sigh of relief had they beaten playoffs chasing Mab Basketball Club last Sunday, but a bitter-narrow 94-93 defeat, put pressure on them to must-win the remaining two matches, and coach Simba says they have a date with destiny in their hands and that, it’s their last chance to rise to the big occasion ignite their passion to achieve their ultimate goal of qualifying for the playoffs in their first time of asking.

“Our win on Saturday against Neosasa Morans had put us in prime position to finish third had we won all our remaining matches. However, Sunday’s disappointing defeat to Mab which I feel we kind of lost controversially has derailed us as we’re now in position five and we must win our remaining matches, which luckily we’re hosting to fancy our chances,” Kisii Raptors coach Hillary Simba told People Sport.
