A heavyweight clash pitting league contenders Shabana FC and Kibera Black Stars is slated for this afternoon at the Ligi Ndogo Grounds in Nairobi as the National Super League enters Round 12 with seven matches on the card today.

The hosts coming into the game had picked up 17 points overall and 11 points from their last five games with seven goals scored for the Black Stars.

The Slum Boys are currently beaten in five games at home. Momentum is really building for the Black Stars as they have gone for six games without losing. They have won three of their last five matches played, conceded once and kept four clean sheets.

However, league leaders Shabana on 25 points, have won four times and Black Stars thrice with one game ending in a draw in eight meetings.

Match in hand

The two sides are currently separated by eight points with third-placed Black Stars having a match in hand.

Meanwhile second placed Muranga Seal FC travel to Wundanyi-Taita Taveta County with hopes of yielding full points away against hosts Mwatate United.

Their minds will be in two places as they listen to what happens at Ligi Ndogo where they will be hoping no team earns full points between the two title favourites even as the Central-based side closes in on the leaders Shabana.

Excellent run

Seal who have been on an excellent run in recent times have 18 points in the bag with a match in hand with a goal difference of 111.

They are yet to lose a match thus far in the campaign. Mwatate who are in a disappointing 15th place with five points would appear to have limited chances on paper against the more attacking opposition.

In another interesting match lined up today, sixth-placed Mara Sugar FC and seventh-placed Kisumu All-Stars who are separated by a point in the log standings, meet in Awendo Stadium this afternoon.

Kisumu who have a match in hand and on 13 points are buzzing after their 3-0 drubbing last weekend against Vihiga United FC. At the same time, the hosts who suffered a 3-1 beating by second-placed Muranga Seal last weekend, will want an instant reaction.
