Migori Youth FC recorded one of their finest performances of the season yesterday after they beat a visiting Darajani Gogo 3-1 at Migori Stadium in a Round 18 clash.

The hosts who have now moved to 10th place with 18 points had their three goals in exquisite fashion as quick moves from the midfield opened up the defense of the visiting side and punished them.

Gogo simply could not hold against a marauding side and a hostile crowd.

The Migori side was always knocking at the door with fast paced attacks that made the opponents very uncomfortable.

Gogo’s coach Caleb Aringa was frustrated since his side was not allowed to play their game and were pinned on their own half for a big chunk of the duel. The result means Gogo who had thrashed Gusii FC 3-0 in a midweek clash, remain in the eighth position with 21 points off 13 games.

At nearby Gusii Stadium, hosts and league leaders Shabana FC emerged 2-0 winners over third placed Murang’a Seal FC who finished the game with 10 men.

The Shabana renaissance continues with its impressive comeback run following its third consecutive victory.

Goals by midfield sensation Maurice Dukully in the 41st minute and red hot striker Vincent Nyabuto in the 52nd minute of play were enough to do the deal and push Tore Bobe to 35 points off 15 matches.

Shabana have now won 11 matches thus far and have a goal difference of +17 and Sammy Okoth’s men despite a recent blip look well primed for promotion at this rate.

Seal on their part,is still in good placement with 25 points and a match in hand. Vincent Nyaberi’s men so far have seven wins and a goal difference of +11.In their last game at midweek,Seal tied 0-0 with fourth placed Kibera Black Stars.

Meanwhile Kisumu All-Stars FC failed to honor their match against another title contender BlackStars that was slated for Ligi Ndogo. The Lakeside team cited in a facebook post that due to the financial crisis in the club, they were not able to travel.

This afternoon, four matches are lined up with second-placed Gusii FC attempting to recover from their last fall defeat as they host Mully Childrens’ Family at Gusii Stadium. Another exciting game will see two top 10 sides go head to head will see sixth-placed Naivas FC host seventh-placed Mombasa Elite FC at Camp Toyoyo Grounds with the interesting bit of this clash being that they both are on 222 points only separated by goal difference. The other two matches will see Coastal heroes host lowly Silibwet Leons at Mbaraki Sports Club while Mwatate United host Vihiga United at Wundanyi Stadium in Taita Taveta.
