Clifton Miheso scored the only goal for AFC Leopards in a 1-0 win over Bandari in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match played at Dandora Stadium on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

The loss is a big blow to the Dockers' remote dream of winning the Premier League title, while Ingwe claimed another victory at the same venue they saw off Compel FC in an FKF Cup match some days ago.

Meanwhile, Victor 'Aguero' Otieno came close to breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute, but he took too long to pull the trigger, allowing Bandari's experienced defender Atariza Meja to clear.

Another chance for Ingwe to score came two minutes before the half-hour mark, but Kennedy Owino failed to find the back of the net even though he was in a good position to.

Ingwe, despite missing initial changes to claim the lead, continued with their relentless attacks; they finally registered an opener when Aguero, Jaffary Owiti, and Miheso combined in a move that led to the goal.

Otieno's cross landed on the path of Owiti, who set up the goal-scoring opportunity for Miheso, and the former Gor Mahia and Kenya Police forward, with tangible composure, managed to score.

Just like it was the case in the first half, Ingwe were in an attacking mode in the second half compared to Bandari, who sat back and mostly depended on counter-attacks.

Victor Omune, who came on in the second half, had a chance to score Ingwe's second but was denied by the goalkeeper.

The win propelled AFC Leopards to sixth place with 41 points.

Police secure vital win

Meanwhile, Police fought to register a 2-1 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz at the Mumias Sports Complex.

The victory kept the law enforcers' slim dream of mounting a challenge for the title under coach Salim Babu, who has never lost since taking the reigns from Zdravko Logarusic.

Kevin Amwayi gave Homeboyz the lead before Tito Okello equalised for the visitors at the hour mark, and Marvin Nabwire scored the winning goal late in the second half.
