Nairobi City Stars rope in 2 more ah**d of new season

Nairobi City Stars have confirmed two more new signings ahead of the new league campaign scheduled kick-off on Saturday.

Robinson Asenwa, previously with Vapor Sports Academy, is the latest addition to Nairobi City Stars. While the club didn't specify the duration of his contract, his arrival adds depth to the team.

Another fresh face is Gilbert Abala, who joins from Busia Sugar FC in the Western Region. His signing further strengthens the Nairobi City Stars roster.

These new recruits follow the recent announcement of the club's signing of Japanese forward Yuto Kusaba.

Kusaba's arrival is a significant moment in his career, as he aims to become the first Asian player to compete in Kenya's top-tier football league. His ambitions also extend to mastering both English and Swahili, reflecting his dedication to this exciting new chapter.

As Nairobi City Stars welcome these three players, they bid farewell to seven members of their squad in the transfer window.

This includes the retirement of Anthony Kimani, a veteran with nearly two decades of professional football experience.

Additionally, Kennedy Onyango has moved on to Gor Mahia, while Herrit Mungai, Jacob Osano, and the experienced goalkeeper Steve Njunge have also departed.

The list of departing players is rounded out by Salim Abdallah and Ezekiel Odera, both of whom faced allegations of match-fixing and subsequently received suspensions.

Nairobi City Stars is gearing up for their league campaign, set to commence this Sunday with a match against Muhoroni Youth FC at Kasarani Annex in Nairobi, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 PM.
