It is now official, Nairobi Stima’s tenure in the Betika National Super League is over after nine years following a goalless draw with their “brother team” Coast Stima FC on Sunday.

It means that with only one round left for the season to end, Nairobi Stima cannot escape danger since they can only get to 38 points.

The Power Men now join Soy United and Kisumu Hot Stars on the relegation list.

In 36 matches, Nairobi Stima only won eight matches with coach Barrack Odhiambo having one of the worst runs in the league.

The team  suffered financial challenges this season cin addition to losing several top players.

With 17 losses in a single season and 56 goals conceded, Nairobi Stima registered the worst form in the season.

After the pullout of main sponsor Kenya Power and Lighting Company, the team that finished third in 2019 became a pale shadow of its former self.

Stima qualified for the promotion/relegation playoff, but lost the top flight spot to Posta Rangers 3–2 and remained in the second division.

Nairobi Stima only lost two league matches that year, but missed out on promotion by goal difference to Kisumu All-Stars.

Meanwhile Vihiga Bullets and Fortune Sacco will have to wait until the last match of the season to know who will make it to the Premier League play-offs.

Both have played 35 matches but the former have a point ahead with 58 points after two successful wins over Gusii FC and Mully Children’s Family FC with the latter having been beaten 1-0 through a Jackson Oketch goal. Fortune Sacco are on 57 points with 15 wins off 35 matches.

Kenya Police have all but confirmed their promotion to the Premier League following a 1-0 win over Mwatate United Sunday through a David Oluoch effort.

With that win,Police are now on 61 points with only one match remaining as John Bobby Ogolla looks to take his side to the top after what has been a good season.

Police have 15 points off 36 matches with their last match slated to be against Migori Youth this coming weekend.
