Kenya national amputee team lost their last group C match of the ongoing African Amputee Football Cup of Nations ( AAFCON) against African para games champions Ghana by two goals to one on Tuesday night at the Katameya Sporting Club in Cairo, Egypt, their last group game and consecutive loss, meaning that they now have to wait for the group losers fixture with nothing else to play for apart for the rankings.

Sending a message from Cairo, Kenya Amputee Football Federation wrote on its official social media platform that the continental showcase event has proved to be one of the worst performances ever by the national team.

“Our worst tournament ever as we finish bottom of group C with no points. We now wait for group losers fixtures for ranking. We’ll have few more matches to play and redeem ourselves, “ said a statement from the federation on its official Facebook page.

Kenya arrived in Cairo on Friday night, hours before the tournament kicked off and lost their group match opener on Sunday against tournament debutants Algeria by a single goal to none, a game that was widely blamed on jet lag.

On Monday , the Clement Abdalla Otieno led side tried their best but again lost by three goals to two against a Gambia side that has  never won an AAFCON match, but made history by getting their first three points against Kenya.
