National 10,000m walking race record holder Dominic Ndigiti has said that his aim this year is to qualify for the Commonwealth Games and World Championships.

Ndigiti who is under the management of DBA Africa said that he is currently in intensive preparations in readiness for the upcoming World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships in Muscat Oman set for March 4-5 2022, which he aims to use as a launchpad in his targets to qualify for the above two major championship games.

“The Oman race is dear to me and is my main focus at the moment. I want to improve on my world rankings and Oman is my first stop to achieving my dreams this year,” said Ndigiti.

Ndigiti, the former Africa Under-20 walking race champion, added that this year he intends to race in five major international races, including the Commonwealth Games, World Championships, Africa Championships, and Kip Keino Classic.

“I want to be among the top elite walk racers in the world and to achieve that I need to improve on my time. I want to try and see if I can challenge myself to go under one hour and 20 minutes in 20km. I know it’s possible and as I head to Oman, I want to aim for it,” said Ndigiti.
