The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (Nock) today announced that
their budget for the 2020 Olympic Games is Sh 600m.

Noc-k Acting Secretary General Francis Mutuku said the budget was
agreed and passed during the Annual General Meeting held at Panari
Hotel in Nairobi as Kenya plans to send a bigger team at the Summer
Games set to run between July 24 and August 9.

During the Friday AGM, the body's accounts for the 2016-2017 year were
also passed by the members. The assembly had failed to pass the
accounts from the previous meeting.

"Of that budget, Sh 250million will be used for preparations and
qualifications purposes," said Mutuku.

Mutuku said this was reached upon after considerations were made on
the state of those federations that have qualified athletes as well as
the probable ones.

"We are looking to have more athletes qualifying for Olympics compared
to the previous edition," he added.

Kenya was represented by 89 athletes, 47 men and 42 women at the 2016
Rio Olympic Games where Kenya spent approximately Sh540 million.
