Obiri to defend her 5000m title in Oregon

World 5000m champion Hellen Obiri will defend her title during the 18th edition of the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, the USA which will be held from July 15 to 24.
During Doha’s Championships, she won the 5000m champion spectacularly, breaking the previous meet record of 14:26.83 set by Ethiopia’s Almaz Ayana in 2015 in Beijing.
“I want to run the 5,000 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon since I am the defending champion,” Obiri said.
