AFC Leopards striker Vincent Oburu has officially decamped to moneybags Wazito FC days after penning an emotional goodbye letter to the Ingwe fraternity.

As the transfer window gets underway for the forthcoming BetKing Premier League campaign, teams are now making moves to attract the best.

Oburu reportedly rejected a new deal with the big cats in February after a three-and-a -half year stay at the Den.

“I am happy to join this team. It is a good career step for me because it gives me an opportunity to work hard and improve as a player.

I want to work well with my coach and teammate so that we can achieve what the team wants, which is winning titles,” he said during his unveiling at Wazito.

New Wazito head coach Fred Ambani believes Oburu is a great addition to the squad.

“He needs no introduction because he is a very good striker who will definitely add quality to the team.

Indeed, one of our problems last season was failing to score goals and I think with him in the team, he will help solve that,” stated Ambani.

Oburu’s former coach Anthony Kimani regretted failing to keep his star man. “This is normal in football even though it is a big loss for us but life has to go on.

Definitely there are those who will leave and those interested in joining but all these are under considerations.

I wish Oburu all the best because he really helped us as a club.”

Meanwhile, newcomers Nairobi City Stars have acquired the services of influential midfielder Sven Yidah from Kariobangi Sharks subject to completion of final paperwork.

“We are finalising details with the other end. It is an opportune move for the player and we have a good relationship with City Stars so let us see how it goes,” said Sharks
