Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech has penned down an emotional tribute to his younger brother Kevin Oliech.

Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech has penned down an emotional tribute to his younger brother Kevin Oliech who succumbed to cancer at a hospital in Germany last Sunday.

The mesage of condolonce by Dennis was even more heart-wrenching as he was at Kevin’s bedside in Berlin before the latter passed on, aged 33.

“Last week when I drove for 16 hours and 40 minutes from the UK to be with you in Berlin, it never crossed my mind that I would be at your bedside until your last breath.

That is something that will stick with me forever. I saw how you were struggling with pain every day and even when you were weak, you still put on a brave face,” he said.

Oliech observed that the demise of the former Harambee Stars, Gor Mahia, Mathare United and Nairobi City Stars striker was too hard to take.

“To my brother Kevin, I don’t even know where to start. There is so much I want to say but I don’t think I will ever manage to do so in one day.

Yesterday, I couldn’t even do anything but cry until my body was numb. One thing I know is our brotherhood will forever be in my heart until we meet again brother.’’

In the meantime, Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna has sent condolences to the bereaved family.

“Although I did not have a chance to play with Kevin, this is really a sad moment.

The last time I met him, we were on the same plane. I was in the Harambee Stars squad touring India for a friendly match and I guess he was going for a private tour. Rest in peace Kevin,” said Muguna.
