Experienced Kenya Tae Kwon Do star Faith Ogallo has opened up on her big desire to join the Kenya Police Service.

The African Championships bronze medalist is optimistic of achieving her long term ambition of becoming a police officer should the opportunity arise.

“That has been my dream for a very long time,to become a police officer.Last time they were recruiting I never got a chance because I was doing preparations for Tokyo games.I believe this time round when the process is called I will be ready to turn up for the exercise to get the opportunity. It has always been my desire to join the Police Service to serve the nation in that capacity,”Ogalo told People Daily Sport.

The Kibabii University graduate with a degree in Social Work made history two years ago by becoming the first Kenyan to compete at the Olympic Games.

Kenya Police Tae Kwon do president Jared Ojuok has heaped praise on Ogalo who is now training with the team at the Nairobi South C camp.

“Faith Ogallo is a brilliant lady. She is a degree holder and in the East African region she is the only Olympian in Tae Kwon do.With her experience, she can be of help even in mentoring young players.

The cool, national team player who had tried her lack in a variety of sport disciplines before settling for Tae Kwon do, has represented Kenya in various international competitions including the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She also won a silver medal in the 2019 edition of All African Games that was held in Rabat, Morocco.

She is optimistic of grabbing an elusive medal at the Summer Olympic games in future, now focusing on qualifications to Paris 2024.

Should she reach her goal, she will be linking up with a number of sports personalities in the country in the Police Service. Some of the outstanding athletes who have joined Police includes sprint star Ferdinand Omanyala, 5000m Commonwealth Games champion Beatrice Chebet and rugby star Jeff Oluoch.
