Posta Rangers have been named the Football Kenya Federation Premier League team of the week.

The John Kamau-led side beat Kenya Police FC and Kakamega Homeboyz to the award.

The three clubs won their respective matches over the weekend, with Rangers beating Kariobangi Sharks. Sharks have been one of the best-performing teams after five games but conceded their first loss against the Rangers.

Posta Rangers outstanding

Kakamega Homeboyz emerged as winners in their match against Bandari, while Police recorded their first win of the season when they defeated Bidco United.

Apart from winning the club of the week award, Rangers' Kennedy Onyango was named the player of the week, while coach Kamau was named the best in his category.

Onyango saw off competition from Kelvin Etemesi of Nairobi City Stars and Clinton Kinanga of Police. These players were all on target for their respective outfits in the week-five matches.

Onyango, who is a centre-back by trade, was also the only man from Posta Rangers named to the team of the week.

Kinanga, Etemesi, and Murang'a Seals' Wilson Kamau formed the attacking unit in the team of the week.

Posta Rangers' next game

After dominating the awards ceremony, Posta Rangers will have to quickly turn their focus on their next assignment. The next game will be against Nzoia Sugar at Kasarani Annex, and it will be another test for the Mailmen, who have shown solidity in all departments in the new season.

The Mailmen's performance in the last five games, where they remain unbeaten and lead the table, is set to act as a morale booster going into the game against the Sugar Millers.
