Western Jaguars stunned Kenya Police 2-1 in their men’s Kenya Hockey Union Premier League match at the City Park Stadium in Nairobi over the weekend.

The result saw Police suffer their first loss of the season in three matches.

Jaguars took a deserved lead in the first half through Derrick Juma which was cancelled by Titus Kimtai of Kenya Police in the second half. Bethuel Masambu had the last say scoring the winner late in the second half.

Kimtai challenged the law enforcers to rise from the loss and concentrate on coming matches.

“We played badly in my opinion; you can’t compare the match to the previous one against Butali where we played to a 2-2 draw. We need to work on controlling the game more in our subsequent make matches,” noted Kimtai

The win was an immediate response from Jaguars, who had started their season poorly losing 3-0 to Sailors on Saturday at the City Park Stadium.

Elsewhere, reigning champions Butali Sugar Warriors extended their unbeaten run to three matches after defeating Parkroad Badgers 2-0 at the City Park Stadium.

Festus Onyango was thehero for the champions after finding the back of the board on both occasions to further add misery to Badgers, who suffered a 1-3 loss to Greensharks in their first match.

In the Super League, Amos Wangwere scored the lone goal as Kisumu Youngstars beat Mvita XI.

Mvita XI now has 4 points after drawing 1-1 against Nakuru 1-1 on Saturday.
