Betika league campaign.

Vihiga Bullets are a hungry lot and are keen to pick crucial points as the season approaches conclusion in the Betika National Super League.

Bullets, currently fourth in the table standings, have been the team on form lately with four wins in five matches which have pushed them to 50 points and back in strong contention for a Premiership slot.

Bullets early this week stunned league leaders FC Talanta 3-0 and will now host neighbors Kisumu All-Stars at their favorite hunting ground Bukhungu Stadium as they bid to get into the top three.

Edward Manoah’s charges who are yet to lose in five matches, will, however, have to be careful with the former Premiership side who are sixth in the table with 45 points and are buoyed by their 3-0 win against Nairobi Stima FC last weekend.

Bullets won the corresponding fixture 2-1 in Kisumu’s Moi Stadium and will therefore be in a positive mood going into this match this afternoon.

Jackson Oketch who is top scorer for Bullets this season with 11 goals thus far will be the go to person for goals but All-Stars have equally Alfred Emoni with 11 goals being on fine form lately.

Manoah said: “We are looking forward to a good match and I know it will be tough.

However we will focus on our game and forget about history. All-Stars is a good side and we have to respect them.”

Meanwhile, Talanta will quickly want to forget their debacle after the loss to Vihiga Bullets as they line up to face tricky eighth placed side APS Bomet.

The leaders who are on 62 points and firmly in the gear will hope the previously blunt Anthony Guchu and Edwin Mwaura will be firing on all cylinders so as to extend the gap.

Talanta Coach Ken Kenyatta will likely make adjustments after their frustrating outing last time out. His team has yet to pick full points in two consecutive matches.

Third placed Fortune Sacco on 52 points host 15th placed Migori Youth at Kianyaga Stadium in Kerugoya as Nichodemus Omasete seeks to see his charges finish high up the table.

Second placed Kenya Police who beat Silibwet Leons 2-1 in their last assignment will travel to Central Kenya for a date with 11th placed Muranga Seal who are normally a hard nut to crack at their St.Sebastian Park home ground. -Barry Silah
