A chance to evade relegation in the Kenya Cup rugby scene is in the offing as two victims in Nondescripts RFC and Impala Saracens lock horns at the Ngong’ Racecourse grounds today.

The two combatants, who have a combined 27 Kenya Cup titles between them, are at the lower reaches of the league with just one round of the regular season left going into the penultimate stage.

Nondies must record a win while hoping that they shall register positive results in matches against Top fry Nakuru, Homeboyz and Mwamba who are just four points ahead of the 17-time champions.

On the other hand, Impala are level with Nondies at 11 points but with a better marginal difference and will head to the racecourse grounds not only to chase for a win but also trying to avoid banishment from the league.

In other matches, Kenya Harlequins, who are one position above the relegation zone at 12 points,  will host Top fry Nakuru at the RFUEA grounds in an anticipated thriller.

Top fry, the two time Kenya cup champions lost 13-8 to Masinde Muliro at the Nakuru Athletic Club (NAC) and a win over Harlequins will give them breathing space heading into the last round of action.

However, a loss for Topfry could see them being condemned to the relegation zone once again to the disappointment of their fans.

In Kakamega,  Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will host Mwamba RFC in an early kick-off before Kabras Sugar tackle Homeboyz RFC later in a 3.00 pm fixture.

Elsewhere at Nakuru ASK Show ground, hosts Menengai Oilers will host Kenyatta University Blak Blad with Kenya Cup defending champions KCB making a short trip to engage Strathmore Leos at the Cage.

Both teams are expected to play with settled nerves as they have already qualified for the playoff stage.
