Premier League contenders Fortune Sacco FC and Shabana FC meet this afternoon at the Awendo Green Stadium in a battle of wits as the Football Kenya Federation-National Super League enters Round 18.

The two are currently first and fourth respectively on the log with five points separating them after 16 rounds played.

The hosts Shabana popularly known by their fans as Tore Bobe will be hoping their good form continues after posting three wins in a row with their latest run coming against neighbours, Gusii FC who they beat 1-0 last weekend to move to 27 points.

At the same time, leaders Fortune Sacco will be praying for no slips after picking only two wins in their last five matches. Sacco is currently at the top with 32 points following their last weekend 1-0 win over Zoo FC of Kericho.

Coach Sammy Okoth of Shabana will be inspired by their recent form but wants a good game nonetheless. He has warned his charges against complacency and urged them to show character as before. “We are in the process of building something nice.

So far so good and I can say that we are on the right track. It is only my third match in charge but we are seeing positive things. About our next match, we will not look at the opponent and position but focus on ourselves and what we can improve on.

The league is tight and anything can happen. I just want my players to take their chances and work as a team then we will achieve big things,” stated the former Vihiga United tactician.

In another big tie today, newcomers Naivas will host Mombasa Elite at Camp Toyoyo Grounds with both teams tied on points albeit with the former having a match in hand.

The shoppers who are currently fifth on the log had their match against Murang’a Seal last weekend postponed after match officials failed to show up at St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a for the duel.
