Ruaraka run over Sikh Union as Stray Lions roar in NPCA cricket league

Ruaraka Sports Club got an important victory for the second week running after posting a 123 run win against visiting Sikh Union Sunday in the ongoing Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association Super Division-50-Over Championship.

The home team who won toss selecting to bat posted an impressive 266 run score on the board in the opening innings with Shil Gill on a century.

Gill’s score (104 runs off 116 balls) came against the backdrop of a personal contribution of 10 boundaries.

In the same innings,Sikh Union’s Aum Patel (3 wickets for 56 runs) was the main dangerman for the opposing batsmen taking the wickets of Chandresh Hirani,Shil Gill and Yogesh Sawant.

After the break,Sikh Union were dutifully restricted in their attempted chase as they posted 143 runs on the board with Ali Butt (53 runs off 62 balls) being their top scorer.

Ruaraka bowling attack of Yogesh Sawant and Nick Hirani had triple wicket hauls as Sikh Union batsmen suffered heavily in the crease.

Meanwhile in the heavyweight duel of the weekend,Stray Lions got the better of their rivals Swamibapa in a nine wicket mauling in a duel played at Nairobi Jaffreys.
