Salim Babu reveals Junior Stars’ provisional squad ah**d of CECAFA U18

The Kenya National U18 boys' team, Junior Stars Head Coach Salim Babu, unveiled the provisional squad for the upcoming CECAFA U18 tournament.

The newly appointed tactician has gone for a mix of school team players and individuals involved in various tournaments and FKF-run leagues nationwide.

Junior Stars from FKF PL

The inclusion of a strong FKFPL contingent, featuring Kariobangi Sharks' quartet Stanley Wilson, Mathew Kibiwott, Kelvin Wanyanga, and Evans Aroko, Ulinzi Star's Lucas Maina, Shabana's Delphine Omuri, and Kakamega Homeboyz' Ibrahim Wanzala, brings crucial experience to the squad.

Furthermore, 11 players from FKF National Super League teams Rainbow, Mombasa Star, and Migori Youth contribute additional experience to the team.

The KSSSA champions St. Anthony’s and finalists Shanderema School have produced 6 and 3 players, respectively.

Kibet part of Junior Stars squad

Former St. Anthony’s forward Adrian Kibet, now based in the USA, and Shanderema duo Mark Shaban and Kelly Madada are among the talents.

Kakamega School’s Green Commandos contribute 4 players, led by captains Jack Ongaya and Clement Kawere.

Derrick Oketch, a standout player from the Chapa Dimba tournament representing Ebwali Secondary School, also secures a spot in the squad.

The CECAFA U18 tournament is set to commence on November 25.
