Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen scored a hat-trick to ensure Kenyan parliamentary group secures a point in a 3-3 tantalising draw against Uganda in Tanzania

The talisman who is also the Bunge FC captain has so far scored four goals in four matches in the ongoing 11th edition of EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games in Arusha, Tanzania.

Kenyan team was 3:0 down at half-time before Murkomen opened the scoring and went on to score two more at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.

"Our game against Uganda did not meet our expectations. However, after going down three-nil, we were excited to fight back for a draw. I'm glad to have scored my first hat-trick in the EAC Inter-Parliamentary games. Very proud of my teammates in Bunge FC, the kings of comeback," Murkomen said.

On Tuesday, Bunge FC had collected three points after edging out EALA 1-0.

A solitary goal by Murkomen through a penalty kick was the only one needed to earn the team all the points.

“A great start for Bunge FC at the 11th edition of EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games. EALA 0 Kenya 1. I was honoured to Captain the team and to score the solitary goal. A great show of discipline commitment by my teammates and the coaching team. Always happy to represent our great country,” Murkomen said.

The team is currently taking part in the annual games that rotate from East African Community (EAC) member countries and commenced on December 5 till 17 this year in Arusha, Tanzania.

Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega is captain of Kenya's Golf team while Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama steers Volleyball team.
