Kenya Simbas rugby team got a resounding 51-34 victory over defending champions Leopards of South Africa in their penultimate round of the 2022 Currie Cup first division at the RFUEA grounds on Saturday.

“We can scent the world cup qualification; this time we believe we will get it done because we have the will and the capacity to deliver the world cup qualification.

"We spent a month in South Africa reflecting on the qualifiers and we are glad the team chemistry is getting stronger and we are on the same page - to claim our maiden World Cup because we are now on a mission to make a good account of ourselves.”  Darwin Mukidza told People Sports.

Full-back Darwin Mukidza was among the top changes executed by head coach Paul Odera and the ‘Assasin’ did not disappoint as he came in to start by delivering a 6-0 lead through two early penalties.

He later converted two tries for the Simbas to lead 25-14. Mukidza created chances in the second half and set up Beldad Ogeta to a try while converting three of the four tries to push his points contribution to 21 at the end of the match.
