Tusker coach Robert Matano believes a win against Gor Mahia will increase the team’s chances of winning a double this season.

The Brewers will come up against K’Ogalo in an FKF Premier League fixture at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday seeking to protect their slim lead at the summit of the 18-team table.

Tusker are already in the final of the FKF Cup where they face Kakamega Homeboyz on the final day.

“We are taking it a game at a time but a win against Gor Mahia will bring us closer to our dream of winning a double, it is my wish to get the two trophies and that is what we are fighting for,” said Matano.

“It will not be an easy game, Gor Mahia are coming from losing a derby [against AFC Leopards] and they know defeat will dent their hopes of winning the title, so I anticipate a close game.

“We will need to be clinical in front of the goal, we have not been putting away the many chances we create, it is something I have told my players to work on especially against Gor Mahia. Any chance needs to be converted to goals, only that way we can get a positive result,” he said.

Tusker are topping the league on 64 points from 34 matches, one point more than Gor Mahia, who have played the same number of matches.

Tusker’s upcoming match against Gor on Sunday is easily the top of the table fixture this weekend.

Both teams have been vying for the coveted first place throughout the season, and securing three points in this encounter is crucial for their title aspirations. Expect a fiercely contested battle between these two football powerhouses.

Another exciting fixture is the “Afande Derby” between Kenya Police FC and Ulinzi Stars.

This rivalry never fails to deliver an intense and captivating game. Kenya Police FC will be eager to bounce back from their elimination in the MozzartBet Cup Round of 16 and claim victory over the Soldiers.

Meanwhile, Wazito FC and Mathare United will be fighting tooth and nail to avoid relegation as they face Bandari and KCB respectively.

Both teams are currently locked in a tight race for the final playoff spot to secure their place in the league. The outcome of these matches will have a significant impact on their survival hopes.
