Principal Secretary for State Department of Sports and The Arts Jonathan Mueke Mwangangi, has revealed his net worth of 270 million.

The former Nairobi County Governor confirmed this on Wednesday, November 30, when he appeared before the National Assembly's Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture for vetting following his nomination for the role of Principal Secretary.

Man of Integrity

Mueke identified himself as a man of integrity who served Kenyans without discrimination as Nairobi's deputy governor.

He insists that he will use his political expertise to work with many stakeholders to ensure the development of sports.

"My personal net worth is is 270 million shillings. he stated during the vetting process. "I am a man of integrity, I have held a public office before where I was in a cosmopolitan city in which all the 44 communities are domicile. We treated every one equally without discrimination," he added.

Political expertise

He maintains that he will use his political expertise to work with many stakeholders to ensure the development of sports.

"I came out as the first deputy governor of Nairobi without integrity issues and not being questioned for discrimination. I want to assure Kenyans that my political experience will be an addon to the values and skills that I bring to this position. I will use the experience to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure we develop sports," he revealed.

Asked on how he will deal with the pending bills he said:

"I will first do an audit to understand how the pending came about. Once I find out the due process was followed, I will go ahead clear the pending bills. How I will ensure the pending bills don't occur, I will ensure no procurement happens without appropriation of funds," he concluded.

While in serving as the deputy governor his office was in charge of infrastructure, public works & transport, commerce, trade, tourism & cooperatives, agriculture & forestry, and
ICT, youth & social services.
