Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and Kariobangi Sharks have destiny in their hands when they face off in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup round of sixteen match at Utalii ground on Sunday that is the weekend’s highlight.

Both battle-hardened teams must be feeling ‘unlucky’ to have been paired together and it will be interesting to observe who among them will navigate through the quarter finals.

En-route to the stage, Ulinzi had the most difficult of tasks by stopping Sofapaka 2-0 and if they can apply the same fire-power, they are capable of getting something from the match and especially if they field Oscar Wamalwa, their two-goal hero against Batoto Ba Mungu.

In contrast, KCB had the least of problems beating unknown Division Two side Transfoc but they would better be advised not to handle the soldiers with kid gloves in the mouth-watering fixture

The same applies to Nairobi City Stars and Ulinzi Stars whose meeting is expected to produce fireworks galore in the early kick off at Ruaraka ground tomorrow.

Six other big timers in Tusker, AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, Bandari and Bidco are expected to dispose off minnows easily to advance further in the championships which is a ticket to pick the country’s emissaries in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Leopards, who edged out Posta Rangers 1-0 in Thika last weekend, are tipped to devour Bungoma Super Stars, same as Gor who face Mara Sugar in the second match of the double-header in Ruaraka.

Curiously, Ruaraka is the same setting in which Gor crushed CUSCO 5-0 in the round of 32 and not that K’ogall have won themselves quite a number of fans there, this will be quite inspiring when they face the the nondecsripts.

On Saturday, Thika Stadium will host Equity against Vegpro in its first match and Bidco United against Egerton in the second match.

Kakamega-based team, Sigalagala TTI is set to play against Coastal side Bandari FC on Sunday, 1 pm, at the Utalii Grounds.

KCB dubbed ‘the bankers’ will play against Kariobangi Sharks at 3:30 pm, on the same grounds.

The winner of the tournament takes home Sh 2 million as well as a chance to take part in the CAF Confederations Cup.
