Preparations for the 2022-23 FKF Premier League season have gathered pace with clubs putting up final touches ahead of the proposed kick off, September 24.

On Friday September 16, defending league champions Tusker were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted APS Bomet in Kericho.

Robert Matano’s Tusker are camping in Kericho and this was their second build up in 24 hours having played a newly-acquired Wazito FC on Thursday at Muhoroni Stadium.

Tusker took a deserved lead in the first half through Shaphan Siwa but Bomet responded in the second half through Ivorian trialist Frank Ouya.

Charles Odera’s Bomet won the National Super League crown and will be hoping that no legal battles will bar them from playing in the top flight next season.

The team has already shifted base to Nairobi and will be occupying the APTC training center in Utawala, previously the home of AP FC that has since been relegated to the the third tier.

Tusker FC on the other hand have had a good preseason and beat Wazito 2-0 on Thursday evening with Shafan Oyugi and Eric Otieno on target.
