Posta Rangers failed to move close to Gor Mahia after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Tusker at Ruaraka Ground on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

This was a chance for Rangers to put more pressure on the Football Kenya Federation Premier League leaders, but the draw means they have dropped more points and ceded more ground in the title race.

Meanwhile, Tusker almost claimed an opener at the half-hour mark when Siwa Shaphan's effort, after connecting to a cross from Chris Erambo, was parried away by Kevin Opiyo.

Rangers were pinned in their own area, and they had to scramble and clear another dangerous move by Tusker that involved Stewart Omondi and Mike Oduor.

Tusker staged a protest a few minutes after the hour mark, as they claimed a Posta Rangers player handled the ball in their penalty area. The penalty calls were dismissed by the referee, though.

The Brewers had a series of chances between the 70th minute and the 75th minute but were unable to break the deadlock.

Homeboyz down Shabana

Meanwhile, at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz saw off Shabana to go a point closer to Gor Mahia.

The home side scored the opener in the 16th minute through Moses Shummah. The Homeboyz striker was brought down, resulting in a penalty that he managed to convert by beating Tore Bobe's goalkeeper, Mustapha Oduor.

The second goal was scored in the 53rd minute by Hillary Otieno. Otieno connected superbly with a corner that was delivered by Chris Masinza.

The other match, between Kenya Police and Muhoroni Youth, was postponed due to heavy rains.
