Tusker FC, one of the FKF Premier League's top contenders, haves received a significant boost ahead of their final matches of the campaign

Three of their key players, Mike Oduor, David Odoyo, and Tom Teka, have resumed training after recovering from injuries.

The trio had missed the recent match against Ulinzi Stars due to their injuries, but their return comes at a critical time as Tusker prepares for the final stretch of the 2023/24 campaign.

In a statement, the club expressed its excitement at having the players back in training.

"Back and strong! Mike Oduor, David Odoyo, and Tom Teka, who have missed our last two matches, have resumed training after recovering from various injuries," the club announced.

This news comes as Tusker FC has eight days to prepare for their next league match against Nzoia Sugar, a team currently struggling at the bottom of the table.

Tusker's most recent match saw them return to winning form, with Eric Kapaito scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars at the Ulinzi Sports Complex last Sunday.

This crucial win helped Tusker end a two-match losing streak. Kapaito's goal against Ulinzi Stars was his 10th of the season, while goalkeeper Brian Bwire, who returned to the starting lineup, recorded his 10th clean sheet.

Bwire played a crucial role in Tusker's victory, making key saves to keep Ulinzi Stars at bay. Notably, he made a crucial save to deny Leshan Mootian's curled shot and later blocked Masita Masuta's one-on-one effort.

Tusker also had their chances, with John Njuguna's shot from the edge of the area saved by the Ulinzi Stars goalkeeper, and James Kibande's attempt missing the target.

In the second half, Tusker found the breakthrough when Kibande chipped the ball behind the defense to Kapaito's run, leading to the winning goal.

After this win, Tusker has 46 points from 27 matches, with 14 wins, four draws, and nine losses. They have scored 36 goals while conceding 21, demonstrating both offensive prowess and defensive resilience.

Tusker's next match against Nzoia Sugar will be crucial in maintaining their position in the top three as they aim to close the gap with the league leaders.

With the return of Oduor, Odoyo, and Teka, Tusker will have more options as they enter this critical phase of the season.
