Betking Kenya Premier League tail-enders Zoo Kericho caused the biggest upset yesterday by holding title hopefuls KCB to a 1-1 draw at Utalii grounds in Nairobi yesterday.

KCB drew first blood in the 49th minute when Derrick Otanga cashed in on a mistake by Zoo defenders to fire past the unsuspecting goalkeeper Gabriel Andika.

Despite the advantage by the bankers, a composed Zoo launched their own attack with Collins Odhiambo and Matthew Tayo each coming close to finding the back of the net.

Zoo’s efforts paid dividends in the 60th minute when Castro Ogendo found himself unmarked outside the box to boot in the equaliser in the 60th minute.

Elsewhere at Mumias Complex, hosts Kakamega Homeboyz made it two wins in two matches after vanquishing Sofapaka 1-0.

After both teams traded powerful shots at goal, Stephen Opuku latched onto a cross from Moses Mudavadi and drew out goalkeeper Kevin Omondi before planting the ball at the near post for the only goal of the match.

Homeboyz’s Sylvester Owino was voted the man of the match At Afraha Stadium, gallant Nzoia Sugar held Ulinzi Stars to a 1-1 draw in a match of fluctuating fortunes.

James Njuguna scored one of the fastest goals in the season with his first minute strike for Ulinzi before James Kibande leveled terms for Nzoia in the 34th minute.

Nzoia made a flurry of attacks towards the end of the match but were mainly frustrated by superb goalkeeping by Ulinzi goalkeeper James Saruni.

Meanwhile, giant killers Bidco United will be eyeing Gor Mahia scalp when the two sides face off in Kasarani today.
