Lee calls on electorate to vote development-oriented leaders
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has expressed confidence that he will retain his seat on August 9, on the strength of the flagship projects he has initiated.
Kinyanjui, who is running for second term on the platform of development and economic expansion, highlighted the elevation of Nakuru municipality into a city by President Uhuru Kenyatta last December as one of his greatest achievements.
Uhuru conferred Nakuru municipality the city status last December.
Speaking after inspecting a number of projects going on in the Nakuru Central Business District, the governor urged locals to vote wisely in the forthcoming General Election.
He said that the electorate should carefully vet candidates to ensure they get development-oriented people.
Kinyanjui, who has intensified his campaigns amidst the Kenya Kwanza wave in the region, said he has interest of small scale traders at heart.
“Mine is to ensure that we increase the volume of business in our towns,” he said.
