Experts in healthcare and insurance sectors are advocating for use of technology to provide more affordable and personalised healthcare solutions.

They said data and connectivity have the potential to cut costs by offering a comprehensive understanding of patient journeys, treatment paths, risks, and health outcomes in the health sector.

“Consolidating data points across the healthcare ecosystem, will not only equip professionals in the health sector with the necessary information to enhance patient outcomes, but also simplify administration, and minimise costs,”

Speaking at the “The Digital Pulse” CEO’s Roundtable event in Nairobi, hosted by M-TIBA, leaders in the healthcare and insurance sectors emphasised the pivotal role of data connectivity and collaboration in fostering a seamless healthcare ecosystem.

“With the technology, innovation, and capabilities we already have, I firmly believe we can significantly increase insurance uptake from just 3 per cent through collaboration,” said Pieter Prickaerts, Managing Director of M-TIBA.

“The direct connection with the individual empowers easy and transparent insights into their health coverage. For insurance companies, the connection with the individual means there is real time customer feedback and real time data insights, enabling them to better serve their customers. Ultimately, translating to easier access of care for individuals,” he said.

Ikechukwu Anoke, CEO of Zuri Health said that data and connectivity will transform healthcare, aiding precision and predictive medicine.

Metropolitan Hospital CEO Kanyenje Gakombe emphasised the importance of working together, saying: “By working together, we will simplify the healthcare journey and unlock opportunities to benefit the patient.”                     – PD Reporter
