Pay Television Company StarTimes Media has announced an ambitious subscriber retention strategy that will see more local content available on the platform.

Subscribers on terrestrial and satellite platforms will also now get automatic upgrades to higher bouquets at the cost of a lower one for the first two weeks upon renewal of their monthly bouquet of choice.

The digital television firm is also set to introduce three fresh local shows during the festive period namely Next Superstar, Nira and Paper boat which will be available on Rembo TV, the broadcaster’s exclusive local content channel.

StarTimes Regional Director Marketing Director Aldrine Nsubuga said in addition to the fresh local content, for every monthly subscription made on the Nyota bouquet, subscribers will access Basic bouquet for the initial two weeks while subscribers enrolling to Basic will qualify for the automatic upgrade to Classic bouquet at no extra cost.

He said the need to progressively grow value for subscribers informed the new campaign.
