Following government regulations to contain the spread of the Covid-19, Farm Machinery Distributors (FMD) has realigned its Xtra Care Clinics, which catered for big groups of farmers, with visits to individual Massey Ferguson tractor owners.

These clinics are held in conjunction with scheduled field service trips throughout the country.

Arrangements are made before hand with tractor owners to book mutually convenient days and times for free service and mechanical inspection of their equipment.

“Prior to limitations caused by the pandemic  we used to gather  large groups of farmers  for our Xtra Care Clinics, which were held at monthly  intervals  around the country.

These featured demonstration of routine maintenance practices, free service and mechanical inspection of tractors, advice on the new developments in agriculture, the latest tractors and farming mechanisation methods,” Duncan Kigen, Service Manager, FMD explains.

He says now, field staff will explain the service and repair packages provided by FMD including competitive prices and follow ups after repairs.

Farmers will also benefit from demonstrations after the completion of work by FMD and they will receive electronic updates for the new global series of tractors.

“Online training and where applicable on the ground training for the staff of farmers are a regular part of our after sale service,” he adds.

Further, Kigen says FMD helps farmers to embrace mechanisation, utilise and care for equipment as recommended by the manufacturer to increase their yields, profits and the return on their investment.

All the mechanical checks for the tractors are carried out by qualified specialists who are able to offer service and advice about genuine spare parts.
