President William Ruto has ordered security agencies to deal "firmly, decisively and conclusively" with bandits who reportedly killed 10 administration officers in Turkana.

The Head of State confirmed that he had received a detailed report on the incident and has given security agencies a nod to deal with those involved in the killings.

"After receiving a comprehensive report on the Turkana/Pokot incident that led to 10 security/administration officers losing their lives, I have instructed security agencies to deal firmly, decisively and conclusively with those involved. Cattle rustling will stop na sio tafadhali," Ruto posted.

Ruto's order comes against the backdrop of an appeal by former Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok.

Nanok stated that the bandits wrecked terror in Turkana East, leaving 11 police officers and civilians dead.

He implored the government to take necessary measures to curb such attacks and to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.

"It is saddening that bandits are left to wreck terror & killing 11 police officers & civilians, & looting in Turkana east."

"The impunity MUST be HALTED. Gov’t must take stern/decisive action. It has a duty to protect/safeguard & provide a conducive environment to all its citizenry," Nanok posted.
