Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today's happenings.

19-gun salute for Ogolla

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will today accord the late Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla a Military Honours ceremony complete with a military parade and a 19-gun salute ahead of his burial tomorrow.

According to a statement from Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, the Military Honours ceremony will be held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang'ata from 1 pm.

"In accordance with military procedures, the Military Honours ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang'ata from 1 pm.

"The honours will include a church service, military parade and a 19-gun salute. A detailed programme for the ceremony will be made public as soon as it's ready.

"President William Ruto, the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, will attend the ceremony. Others will be Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Senior govemment officials, the leadership of Parliament, the Judiciary, political leaders, commanders of the security sector and members of the Diplomatic Corps," Duale said in a statement.

KPL

Six matches will be played today in the Kenya Premiere League (KPL).

Bidco United will take on Posta Rangers, Kariobangi Sharks will clash with Nzoia Sugar, Bandari will squire it out with KCB, Shabana will face Kakamega Homeboyz, Talanta will clash with City Stars while Police will take on Sofapaka.

All eyes will be on the Bandari Vs KCB and Police Vs Sofapaka matches. Bandari and Police are battling it out for the second and third positions. League leaders Gor Mahia are well comfortable on top with a 9-point lead.

Kenya Super League

Six matches will be played today in the Kenya Premiere League (KPL).

Naivas will take on Kibera Black Stars, Luanda Villa will clash with Gusii, Assad will squire it out with Modern Coast Rangers, Kajiado will face Migori Youth, Darajani Gogo will clash with Mara Sugar while Mulembe United will take on Dimba Patriots.
