Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today's happenings.

KWS continues recruitment

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is scheduled to continue with its recruitment exercise.

The five-day exercise which began on Monday, April 15, 2024, seeks to hire 1,350 rangers and 150 cadets for the position of assistant wardens.

The exercise is ongoing in Lamu, Marsabit, Isiolo, Embu, Kitui, Machakos, Turkana, West Pokot, Samburu, Nandi, Migori, and Kisii counties.

Blackout

Kenya Power on Wednesday announced planned power interruptions in two counties.

In a statement, the utility company cited network maintenance as the reason for the interruptions that will affect Nairobi and Kiambu counties.

The interruption in Nairobi will affect Dandora area including; Dandora Phase 1,2,3,4 and 5, parts of Councilor, Opundo Road, Gitare, Marigo, part of Lucky Summer Estate, Kogocho and adjacent customers.

According to Kenya Power, the aforementioned areas will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm.

In Kiambu, the outage will affect Toll Station including areas such as Murera Coffee, the whole of Mugutha, Toll Station, Ruiru Golf Club, Shell Toll Station, Courtesy Beach, Titanic, Green Ridge, Mugutha Secondary, Murera Primary, Tumainin Catholic Church, Mugutha One Four, Mukuyu Riad, Judea Estate, PCEA, Mugutha Police, Neema Estate, River Line Estate, Dam Ridge Estate, Ruera Dam, Makaburi Village, Wkariuki, Apollos, behind Spur Mall and adjacent customers.

The mentioned areas will be affected from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

Kenya Power also said the outage will affect Ruaka Town in Kiambu from 9 am to 5 pm. Areas that will be affected in the town include; Guango, Nguruwe, Muchatha, Kigwaru and adjacent customers
