Chebukati: There will be no server issues in August polls

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati has assured presidential aspirants that there will be no server issues in the August 9 general election.

Chebukati said the results that will be announced in the polling station will be final and the aspirants are at liberty to get the results there through their agents.

"Your data is secure with IEBC. There should be no fear that documents deposited to us will find their way to the wrong hands.

"IEBC has also prepared a level field for all of you (aspirants). There will be no issues with the server," he said at Bomas of Kenya on Monday while receiving signatures of supporters of presidential aspirants.

Chebukati said the commission is ready to conduct the polls having received the funds required to finance the process.

Chebukati assures aspirants of equal access to the server

"The server will be your polling station. You will get the results from the presiding officer. Those results in the polling station will be final and that will be results that will be announced that the Bomas of Kenya," he stated.

Chebukati also said out of the 47 aspirants that sought to be cleared to run for the presidential seat, 12 did not submit the names of their running mates to the commission.

Presidential candidates are expected to be cleared to run for presidency between May 29 and June 6, 2022.
