Gor took two hours to raise 7k hospital bill for me to be discharged after I broke my hand – Oliech
Legendary striker Dennis Oliech has urged multiple Kenyan champions
Gor Mahia to invest in players welfare and invest in facilities to
match it's achievements over the years.
Oliech who was talking to People Sport today said the club had no
professionalism in its day-to-day operations yet they wanted to be
classified alongside other top Africa clubs.
“The club should take the responsibility and treat injured Philemon
Otieno, but clearly Gor will not. They have never treated any player
before, I was lucky when I broke my arm while playing for them in a
league match against Western Stima as I was rushed to a near by
clinic, but they took more than one hour to raise Sh 7,000 for me to
be discharged. After that I had to take care of myself, the
physiotherapy and every other thing and I'm not alone,” Oliech said.
He added: “The club has many accolades, but they should transfer that
into facilities and proper structures or they will soon be over taken
by new comers like Sofapaka and Wazito. Gor should even get a
five-acre land along Thika Road and build a small stadium where they
can call home, because if you start comparing them with the major
clubs in Africa in terms of investment, it's like day and night.”
