Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader Isaac Ruto has dismissed claims that he was picked by helicopter from his Tumoi home in Bomet County for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi.

In a statement on Wednesday, the former Bomet governor said indeed an helicopter arrived at his home to pick his wife who is working in the essential service sector.

He, however, accompanied his wife to Nairobi in the same chopper.

"The travel by helicopter was not unusual as it is a matter of public record that I have once in a while been using the same means of transport to various destinations.

"Finally, I wish to set the record straight that my travel to Nairobi had nothing to do with the political realignments in the country as is being speculated on the social media," he concluded.
