‘FAKE’- Junet on alleged audio of him plotting high-level secret meeting with IEBC officials
Suna East Member of Parliament (MP) Junet Mohammed has dismissed an audio clip doing rounds on social media with a voice purporting that he is speaking to an Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official about a high-level meeting geared at rigging elections.
In a statement shared across his official social media pages, the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition Secretary-General asked the public to ignore the recording stating that it was a tactic by their competitors to stain their reputation ahead of the August polls.
"The Hon. Junet Mohamed urges the public to ignore the video, which appears to be one of the last desperate acts of a dying political campaign that has been based on years of lies, innuendoes, mudslinging, arrogance, chest-thumping, name-calling, insults and now-waking up to the reality of a lost election-is on a sympathy seeking spree!" the statement reads in parts.

The outspoken legislator further asked investigative agencies to move swiftly and launch investigations on the matter to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book by the law.
"The Hon. Junet Mohamed invites investigative agencies to move with speed and investigate the matter, unearth the perpetrators and bring them to the law," the statement added.
While defending his honour, Junet further stated that he was busy with the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition campaigns and had no time to plot election rigging.
In the audio clip doing rounds on social media, the legislator is heard conversing in his local dialect with an alleged IEBC official about a high level meeting they were supposed to have with the heads of the commission.
Voice 1: "Can you bring Chebukati?"
Voice 2: "Yes."
Voice 1: "Good. Chebukati, you, Guliye, Molu, and the CEO...We will discuss this matter and we have to come up with a solution. There is a problem there, we need to sort it out," Junet is allegedly heard saying.
