Junet’s wife at the heart of his campaign
Suna East MP Junet Mohammed may be physically absent from his constituency, but his wife, Dekah Jamaa, has taken up the noble task to campaign for him aggressively.
While Junet is busy campaigning for Azimio-One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga, Jamaa is busy on the ground hunting for votes.
Junet, who has assumed the role of MC in Azimio rallies, has been regaling crowds with is jibes against Deputy President William Ruto. Jamaa and former Migori mayor Ochieng Ogejo have teamed up and are running the MP’s campaign schedules, pitching his achievements and what he intends to do if re-elected.
Jamaa said voters are happy with Junet and have given him the nod to continue with his national politics in favour of Raila, assuring him of recapturing the seat. “Junet has not been on the re-election campaign but the ground is intact. He still commands majority support,” Jamaa said.
She was speaking at Kadika village at the weekend where she met community elders, opinion shapers and voters from Nyamware, Kadika and Ombo polling centers to pitch for her absentee husband.
However, Independent aspirant, Samuel Amimo said the other aspirants will give Junet a run for his money.
