Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said members of the Kamba community were under attack by “outsiders” who had infiltrated local politics by fielding candidates in the upcoming Machakos by-election.

Kalonzo’s comments appeared to target Deputy President William Ruto who has sponsored Urbanus Ngengele through the recently launched United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Wiper has nominated Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama’s estranged wife Agnes Kavindu for the seat.

Muthama, a strong ally of Ruto, is the national chair of the new party and has vowed to wipe Wiper out of Ukambani.

“As a community we are under attack. We are in a spiritual warfare also and we must rise up and pray for this country.

The time has come to separate the sheep and the wolves,” said Kalonzo while addressing congregants of Africa Inland Church - Kasina in Mlolongo.

Kalonzo cautioned that the country was heading to a bad political direction due to what he termed incitement for a “class war,” in clear reference to Ruto’s  hustler movement.

“I talked about deep state and the devil is the worst deep state and is being released in doses.”

Transport Chief administrative secretary (CAS) Wavinya Ndeti said that the senate seat has a National meaning ahead of 2022 Presidency.

“The fight we have is a national fight and if we don’t get this seat, then we should forget the presidency.

I urge you to teach them a lesson since this is our home and nobody should come from outside and dictate us on who we should elect. Let them stick to their political boundaries,” said Wavinya.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap party has fielded former cabinet minister Mutua Katuku,  for the seat that fell following the death of Boniface Kabaka.

Mutua, Kalonzo and Ruto have announced their bid to inherit President Uhuru when his term expires in 2022.

Yesterday, the Wiper leader said his eyes were firmly on presidency in 2022, saying he will not play second fiddle to anyone.

Mutua is also banking on the senate seat win to secure the much coveted  position that Kalonzo has commanded for years.

He has gone full throttle to utilise his machinery to ensure that he sends home the political message.

Muthama is to settle political scores with his political archival Kalonzo whom they parted ways on 2017.

And in Matuu Catholic Church, Katuku who was in a company of Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo and Machakos deputy governor Francis Maliti told off Wiper party saying he was the best bet.
