Kenya COVID-19 cases rise to 1, 286, nine more discharged

Kenya has recorded 72 new cases of coronavirus, Health CAS Mercy Mwangi announced on Monday.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 1, 286.

Of the cases, 44 are males and 28 are females.

Seventy of the cases are Kenyans, one Ugandan and one Somali national.

Fifty two of the cases are from Nairobi, Mombasa (11), Kiambu (7), Isiolo (1) and Turkana (1).

The cases range between ages 12 years and 78 years.

"On a positive note, nine patients have been discharged bringing the total recoveries in the country to 402," CAS said.

One patient has died, taking the total tally of COVID-19 deaths to 52.
