Kenya records 20 new Covid-19 cases as vaccination surpa***s 15.5 mi*lion

Kenya on Tuesday recorded 20 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 5,545 tested in the past 24 hours.

This translates to 0.4 per cent positivity rate.

From the cases, 16 are Kenyans while four are foreigners and 15 are males and five are females. The youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is aged 70 years.

"Total confirmed positive cases are now stands at 322,517 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,304,677," Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement.

In terms of county distribution; Nairobi recorded 11 cases, Uasin Gishu 3, Nakuru 2, Garissa 1, Kiambu 1, Machakos 1 while Nyeri reported 1 case.

Some 37 patients recovered from the disease, taking total recoveries to 302,866z.

"Today, no death has been reported. Therefore, the cumulative fatalities remain 5,632," Kagwe added.

Vaccination

As of February 14, a total of 15,616,694 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 7,505,604 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated stands at 7,109,900.
